Orphans and Vulnerable Children face significant challenges when it comes to accessing daily food. This unfortunate reality is driven by factors like poverty, conflict, displacement, or neglect. Without consistent access to nutritious meals, these children suffer from malnutrition, which can have severe long-term consequences on their physical and cognitive development.

But here's the good news: we can make a difference together! Community-based organisations play a crucial role in addressing this issue by implementing initiatives like feeding programs, food banks, and nutritional support services. And we're proud to be actively supporting two remarkable CBOs, Siza Community Care Center and Philisiwe Community Health Care Organisation, based in Umlazi, Durban, as part of our Aidsfonds funded project, KidzAlive@Home.

These organisations have Soup Kitchens that strive to provide daily meals to at-risk children, often serving as their only reliable source of nutrition. However, funding limitations hinder the consistent provision of meals.

In commemoration of Nelson Mandela Day, instead of donating 67 minutes on the 18th of July, let's rally together to raise R67,000 or more to expand and maintain this life-saving intervention!

Feeding children is more than just a meal; it's a beacon of hope, a symbol of community solidarity, and a reminder to these children that they aren't alone. Someone cares!
